What to do when your system crashes in XP mode (in hibernation or during shutdown, system reboot)?

This is a fairly common problem. Microsoft in his goodness in general, trying to hide advanced options against inexperienced users.

Sometimes this can cause a variety of problems. For example, if your virtual machine crashes during hibernation / shutdown, is hardly what we can do with it. We can't restart our virtual computer because our virtual machine is simply a file.

After restarting the file is still saved, the system is being shut down and hibernate;)

So our virtual machine is suspended. In your virtual machine menu when you, select Action> close than by default, without any additional questions, our machine hibernates ;).

But our virtual machine is already suspended, so how to switch of XP Mode machine?. Of course, closing with a cross or "Close" does not give us anything.

We need to change the default settings for your virtual machine:

- In Windows "Start" menu go to Windows Virtual PC>Windows Virtual PC and select the file of your virtual machine by pressing the right mouse button on it.

- Select "Settings" and go to "Close". Select "prompt for action", click ok
Now, when you click close button you should see prompt for action, for example "power off" ;)
